Could spring finally be on it's way?? Here in PA the snow is melting, my driveway is muddy and the temperatures are beginning to climb. I'm looking forward to opening the windows and finally airing out the house. It's only a matter of time.....

Meanwhile, been working and scrapping. That's my life. Next week Steve has his appointments with his doctors to once again start to process of going back to work. HOPEFULLY all will be well and by the beginning of April he'll be bringing home a paycheck again. His disability ran out January 15th and it's been a TOUGH road financially. Bills are beginning to pile up and I'm beginning to wonder if we'll ever get out of this whole. Two years ago things were so good. We sold our house, made a nice profit and bought this new one. Now we're back to square one. UGH!!! Will it ever get better?.

Here's some new layouts I've done in the last few weeks. Working with these great flowery kits of Alma's has really gotten me in the mood for spring.

Last Wednesday we had to say goodbye to Tigger. It was a painful decision, but she was very sick and not much could be done for her. I knew in my heart she was sick, but it's still very painful to say goodbye.......

Yesterday was a sad day. My brother had to put is beloved dog Harry to sleep. Harry was a special dog and he will be missed very much. I made the layout above to send to my brother. I'm sure he'll put it near Harry's ashes.

Steve is still not working. We've started a full fledge job hunt now. His short term disability has run out, and we just can't live on my measely income until April. He has an interview on Wednesday. Hopefully he'll get some calls on the other jobs he's applied for.

As for me, been working and working and more working. Getting tired of working, but we need to survive I guess.

It's been downright FRIGID here in PA the last two weeks. I'm not complaining though, after the mild January we had, we were due. I just wish we'd get some snow!

Well, just when we thought it was all over...SURPRISE!!

The doctor for Rockland Coaches (Steve's employer) won't clear him to return to work. Says he can't clear him while he's on Topamax since it's a medication also used to treat seizures. He has to be on something that's strictly for migraines. (the doctor has to follow the DOT regulations since Steve drives a bus for a living)

So here we are, back to square one. I would cry...but I think I'm too numb.....

First hurdle has been jumped....

Finally got the OK from one of three doctors for Steve to go back to work. Hopefully Doctors #2 and #3 will give their quick OK and the middle of next week Steve will be working again! WHOOOOO HOOOO!!!! Keep your fingers crossed cause we DESPERATELY need the income!!

Take a look at this! My son is now officially a published poet!!

Last year as part of an english project, they had to submit a poem to a contest run by The American Library of Poetry. This year he got a letter stating his poem was gonig to be published (ok..so it was a total "come-on" to make the parents spend $24.00 for the book) He was so thrilled when he got the letter that of course we sent in our form. The book arrived last week. Here he is showing of his Poem "If I Were a Bear"

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

It's with mixed emotions that I say goodbye to 2006. As with any year, it had it's shares of ups and downs. I'm hoping 2007 has more ups than 2006, but I'm sure I"ll deal with whatever is thrown my way!

It's been a few weeks since I posted. Hmm....what's new. My biggest news is that I got picked to be on Alma Townsend's Creative team!! Can you believe it?? Me?? Alma?? The Scrap Habit?? I still pinch myself once in awhile to make sure I'm awake! LOL. If you haven't seen Alma's Designs, she sells exclusively at Scrapbook Elements. Her stuff is AWESOME! I'm having so much fun working with it. Here's a couple layouts with some of her newest kits.

I'm also still on the creative team for Mirranda Reinhardt and Gotta Pixel. I am in heaven. Between the three creative teams I'm on, plus being on the DT at Treasures to Scrap, I have so much inspiration and material to keep me going for a long time!!

On a personal note, Steve should be returning to work within the next couple of weeks. Can you say YAHOOOOOOOO? It will be great to get him back to work, get regular paychecks and get back into a routine! I'll still be working on the weekends..but at least it's extra money until we can catch up!

Well, enough of my blabbering! HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!

Migraines! That's what the doctor in Philadelphia thinks Steve is suffering from! Who knew you could actually suffer from migraines without actually getting a headache? I didn't, nor did the other doctors Steve has seen!

Anyway, since there really is no "test" for migraines, the doctor has prescibed Topamax for Steve. Hopefully after a few weeks on this medication the dizzy spells will lessen and we can safely assume that migraines are what has driven us all crazy for the last 4 monts!! Keep your fingers crossed!! I hope this is the beginning of the end of this mystery!!

Now onto some personal stuff!
Had parent teacher conferences last week. Both kids are doing AWESOME! I am so VERY proud! Maggie's teacher says Maggie has such a "pure heart" and is very bright. But we knew that already!! Michael's teacher says he's respectful, curteous and of course, smart! But we knew that too (ok, he has to work on the respectful part at home, but what kid doesn't??)

I've been working a TON of hours at my new job. Thankfully I wasn't scheduled for much this week and I've gotten most of my Christmas Shopping done. Next week we are off to my mom's and Philadelphia. Should be an interesting couple of days.

So, now that we are getting closer to Thanksgiving, want to know what I'm Thankful for?? I'll name 5.

1. I am Thankful for my family. Although they sometimes drive me crazy, my husband and my kids are the light of my life.

2. I am Thankful for my parents. Without their help and support I don't think we would have survived the last 5 months.

3. I am Thankful for my sense of humor for without it I'm sure I'd spend more time crying than laughing.

4. I am Thankful for my friends, both offline and online.

5. I am most of all Thankful to God for giving me such an awesome life.

Will it ever end??!!

Today we found ourselves back at the neurologist's office. Looks like Steve is going to be out for some time and we are going to have to seriously think about what we will do for our future. The doctor is sending him for some blood work to see if there are any abnormalities with the thickness of his blood. We are also going to Thomas Jefferson University Neurological Center for a consult on 11/22. The day before Thanksgiving! What a driving nightmare that will be. Philadelphia is 90 minutes away on a good day. SIGH. But it's got to be done. I usually LOVE October, but this year it just plain STINKS!

Got a call from an irate father yesterday that Mikey had been bothering his daughter on the bus and she was very upset. BOY did Michael get it!! We lit into him the likes of which he has never seen before. We then made him call and apologize to the girl AND her parents. We also told the bus driver that for the next month he is to sit in the front seat of the bus. He also lost his gamecube for a month. I HOPE that will teach him NEVER to upset and bother anyone on the bus again! He had some problems with an older student last year, doing to him exaclty what he did to this girl! I will not tolerate it, and I think I got the message across loud and clear.

Maggie is continuing to LOVE Kindergarten. She is so tired in the afternoons though. I shot this picture of her one night earlier this week. She was one pooped little girl!

Ok..I'm FED UP with doctors! It's been almost 3 months and STILL we have no answers for Steve. He went back to work on Monday, only to be informed that HIS neurologist hadn't cleared him. WHAT?? We thought he had. So after countless phone calls and much stressing and some talking, Steve admitted that he was still having some dizzy spells and then he had a really bad one the other night. So now the neurologist told him straight out he didn't want Steve driving a bus, but he has been less than cooperative in taking responsibility for making sure Steve continues with his disability benefits! UGH!!!

I started my job last week. I'm pretty much just a receptionist for the Community Association Office here....ho hum...but it's a paycheck (allbeit a small one).

I got to finally do some digi scrapping this morning. My buddy Sass shared some awesome photos with me, so I HAD to scrap them. Like it?? I used the Group Monthly Kit at Gotta Pixel. Make sure you download your copy this month! The colors are so rich and GORGEOUS!! I'm sure you'll love it!!

Miss Maggie took her first ride on the bus yesterday. She was SOOOO excited in the morning when she knew it was her day to take the bus with Michael. Of course at 6:30am I am brain dead and didn't realize I didn't have the memory card in my camera until she was about to get on the bus! UGH! But anyway, she so proudly stepped up the steps, said Good Morning to the bus driver and took a seat. As the bus pulled away, she waved out the window with the biggest smile on her face. Indeed, she is a big girl!! I snapped the photos in this layout as she got off the bus this afternoon. She looked a bit confused as to what all the fuss was about, but she said she loved being on the bus. Michael said she was good on the bus, although Mr. Horne said she was a wild one! LOL. He should only know the kind of year he's gonna have with her!! LOL

Bad Peggy, Bad, Bad Peggy!!

It's been forever since I updated this! I'm so bad!

Things are still a mystery as to the reason behind my husband's dizzy spells. We consulted a neurologist about two weeks ago who sent him for an MRI of the carotid artery. We go see a cardiologist on Tuesday about his high blood pressure and to learn the results of the MRI. I don't know what we'll do if they can't find out what's happening with him. It's kinda' scary. How can he drive a bus full of people if he's dizzy?? Will work even let him back?? Too many uncertainties at this point..and frankly, it scares me.

I've been scrapping as much as I can. Keeps my mind off my problems. Mikey starts school tomorrow. Back to the 6:00am grind. I can't believe it's time to start school already. It just feels like yesterday he was done for the summer. But fall is definitely coming. Long Knobs (pictured above) has his winter coat and his full antlers. Pretty soon it will be rutting season and we'll have to stay clear of the bucks completely. I understand they can be quite nasty during Rutting season.

Well..kids are screaming...off to put them in their cages!!

It all started last Friday. I was at my girlfriend's house picking up her kids to take them to the pool. As I pulled out of her driveway, I heard VERY loud grinding noise from my 2005 minivan. I put the car in park, then tried to put it in reverse again..and GRIND!!! UGH!! Now the car won't even move and I'm stuck in the middle of the street. Thank God she was having her AC installed so the nice burly guys gave me push so I could roll the car into the driveway next door. 6 hours later the tow truck showed up and towed it away. Saturday get a call from the Chrysler dealer that they have to replace the left front Axle! WHAT??? The car has 23,000 miles on it and is only 18 months old!!!!!!!!!! Thankfully, the car is under warranty, so I dont' have to pay for the bill, but do have to pay the $200.00 to rent a car for a week since mine won't be fixed for at least that long!

Monday morning my son woke up with an ear ache. Dragged him to the doctor who says he has swimmers ear!!!

Tuesday I drove the hour to my mom's house to take her to the doctor. She had been in the hospital when I got home from vacation a month ago with congestive heart failure. This was a follow up appointment. My dad threw his back out and couldn't take her and GOD forbid they ask my brother who lives a quarter of a mile away..but I digress! Anyway, this was a bright spot because the doctor said he is pleased with her progress and that she is out of danger.

THEN, beginning this past weekend, my husband was complaining of dizziness and nausea. The doctor originally thought it was a reaction to a medication he started on Friday. By today he STILL was not feeling well so off to a new doctor we went, who immediately sent us to the emergency room for tests. So here I am, two kids in tow at the ER for over 4 hours. They are still not really sure what is wrong with him other than that his blood pressure is high. They did an EKG, blood tests, chest x-ray and CAT scan..all were normal. So they sent him home with medication for his blood pressure and something to relieve the dizziness. He goes back to the doctor on Monday. He cannot work until at least Tuesday (Let me add, he doesn't work, he doesn't get paid...they don't have sick time!!).

Rambling thoughts..

I hate rain! We've had over 12 inches of rain in the last 5 days. Everything is flooded. Thankfully I live in a higher elevation, so our home is safe, but I feel for those whose homes are ruined. My husband drove through the Delaware Water Gap on his way to work and he saw the houses that were on the river flooded up to their roofs, with people on the roofs waiting to be rescued. How heartbreaking.

Vacation was a blast. Pictured above was my favorite attraction. Can you guess why??? LOL

For those of you wondering, the Howard Stern thing really was no big deal. About 10 years ago I lost 80+ pounds on the Nutrisystem program. I was one of their success stories and they were doing a spot on Howard Stern and they were looking to have some of their successful clients go on the show. I was one of the first they asked, but I declined. I am not really a Howard Stern fan and I could imagine the comments I would get on my ample chest! LOL (none of the 80 pounds I lost came from there!!). So there you have it, boring huh??

10 Boring Things About Me

Ok, Paige challenged us over at Treasures To Scrap to post 10 things about ourselves. Here goes mine. Don't die from excitement!! LOL

1. I have had 12 years of Catholic Education (grades 4-12 and College)
2. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology, I graduated in 1987 (yes, I'm old!!)
3. My first job out of college was a counselor in a psychiatric group home. I later worked with lawyers..it's almost the same! LOL (JK..don't want to offend any attorneys out there!!!)
4. I was once asked to be on the Howard Stern Show...I declined
5. I met my husband in a ski lodge on New Years Eve (neither one of us ski's)
6. My father taught me how to shoot at the age of 10.
7. I have been suffering from depression since my son was born 10 years ago. I am also hypothyroid
8. I am a die hard New York Mets fan
9. I was Student Council President my senior year of highschool.
10. I met Robin Williams while working on the Student Activities Council in college. He was quite shy (or maybe he was just strung out...not sure which!)

School is over!! No more 6:00am wake up calls for the next two or so months!!! YAHOOOOO!!!!!! Of course my body isn't used to it and I woke up yesterday and today at 5:30am, but I made myself go back to bed!!

Maggie graduated pre-school yesterday! She looked too cute. They wore cap and gowns and different color leis (sp) as they had a "beach graduation" Doesn't she look cute in her shades??

I created this layout with a pic I took of her before we left for the ceremony. She loves her pretty blue dress and was so proud to be a "big girl". The digi kit I used is from Yesterday Remembered and it's called Love Me by Mirranda Reinhardt. What a YUMMY kit. I LOVE all the blues!!!

This week is the big B'Day bash at TTS. Dawn and I have quite a cute digi kit coming in honor of the festivities!! Can't wait to unveil it on Thursday.

Saw another baby deer today. Mom was feeding from the bucket of food we leave out and baby was with her. Mom must like us, cause she didn't move when we all stood about 5 feet from the baby cooing at it. I got a great pic of it running which I am hoping to scrap later on today.

I saw TWO baby deer today. The second one was sooooooo itty! We actually saw it feeding from it's mother (which my 9 year old son informed me was called "suckling".)

Speaking of my son, he's only 9 years old and he suffers from BO! Sigh..he's just a baby...how can he have BO?? I bought some deoderant for him...but he says he doesn't want to use that "man" stuff. I told him if he smells like a man he needs to use deoderant like a man. He told me he can take care of his manly smells with a shower! LOL. I don't want to rush him to grow up, but I don't want him to lose friends at school either. Wednesday was field day. It was in the 80's, it was humid and the sun was shining. Well, when he came home....all I can say is PU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone else have a 9-10 year old with this problem???

Finally get a breather to update this thing!!

WHOOO HOOOOOO! Best news!! I was accepted to the Digital Design Team at Treasures to Scrap!! I am SOOOOOO excited! I LOVE Tracy and am so happy to be part of her team. It's going to be so much fun expanding my digital skills! Plus Dawn and I make the best kits together, so I am happy I'll get to continue working with her! What a chatty bunch of ladies too...they are so much FUN!!

ok..going to see if I can get two photos in here today.

First, Long Knobs showed up today in his usual leaf pile. So here he is, as of today!

As he was sitting there we decided to toss him a few baby carrots from the deck. He was enjoying the carrots when out of nowhere running down the hill came this little one. I thought my kids were going to jump out of their skin! He hung around Long Knobs for a bit, then retreated back up the hill and laid down into some ferns. My son wonders if the baby is Long Knob's. Could possibly be!! Now that I know the fawn is back there, I'll be trying extra hard to catch glimpses of him and some photos. It will be fun to watch the baby grow!

It's the weekend!!!! And it's a long weekend! I don't have to get up at 6:00am until Tuesday!!! (Can you tell I'm really fixated on this 6:00am thing?).

We have a lot of fun things to do this weekend with the kids. I am so glad we decided to move to this community. Sure, it has some of it's problems (as with most gated communities) but for the most part we've been quite happy with the programs and the ammenities. Ok, I HATE the bus situation, but that's more the school district than the community. BUT, I digress.

They are opening the pools this weekend. Ok, it was 30 degrees on Monday morning...HELLO, can we say FROSTBITE?? I told my kids not to be disappointed if the don't get to swim this weekend, but of course they are smarter than me and said "there's always the indoor pool mom".

Long Knobs came around today. I was glad to see him as he hadn't been around for a couple of days and I was afraid something happened to him. Long Knobs, by the way, is a deer that likes to come to dinner at our house almost every night. My son named him such because his "knobs" are much longer than the rest of the bucks that we have seen at this point. Long Knobs had also got into the habit of sleeping in the giant leaf pile in the backyard. He had been there everday for about 10 days, and then he wasn't around for a few. But now he's back. It's funny because he's only a few feet away from the dog run and he doesn't even move if the dogs are out. It's like he knows that they are attached to the cable and can't get to him. The dogs pretty much don't bother with him anyway. I think they just recognize the deer as part of their lives now. This picture was taken of "Long Knobs" about a month ago. His knobs are about twice the size now. By fall he's going to have one HUGE set of antlers!! Hopefully he'll come around this weekend and I'll get an updated pic.

Ok, how pathetic is it that I posted a pic of a deer before I posted pics of my kids???

So there's been so much talk at TTS about blogs and even some pressure for me to create one, so here it is, Peggy's Anti Blog! I really don't have anything of interest to say, but I'll say it anyway in case there is actually someone less interesting out there who may enjoy it.

Only two more weeks of school! YIPPPEEEEE!! Only two more weeks of waking up at 6:00am. I am NOT a morning person, so these last 9 months of going to bed early and waking up at 6 have been TORTURE! I usually only start becoming creative around 9:00pm when the kids go to bed! By 10:00pm I have to literally FORCE myself to go downstairs to bed. Of course once I'm in bed, the TV is on and I'm up past 11:00 anyway.

Saw another baby deer in the yard yesterday. They are so cute! Maggie calls them all Bambi. I love living out here in the mountains. So far this spring I've seen 3 baby deer, a fox, countless adult deer and a bear. The bear was pretty funny because when I saw it I thought it was a dog! Guess I still have to get used to some of the wildlife!

Well, enough rambling from me for now. Maybe I'll have something of more interest to write later.
